Reports to: Chief Executive Officer/Chairman

Position Overview 

We are seeking a motivated Manager – Hydropower Project at our sister company NRN Global Energy Pvt. Ltd  to support the assessment, development, and regulatory coordination of hydropower projects. The role will involve technical evaluation of projects, site visits and study of the hydropower and working in close coordination with Department of Electricity Development (DOED), Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and other concerned Government Agencies as well as Ministries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct technical assessment and feasibility review of hydropower projects (small to medium scale).
  • Review hydrology data, layout drawings, headworks, waterways, and powerhouse concepts.
  • Support preparation and review of documents for DOED processes including:
    • Survey License
    • Generation License
    • Amendment / Renewal applications
  • Coordinate with NEA for:
    • Grid interconnection studies
    • Power evacuation and transmission-related matters
    • PPA-related technical inputs (as required)
  • Assist in preparation of technical reports, project profiles, and presentations for management and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with consultants, survey teams, and government agencies.
  • Participate in site visits, inspections, and meetings with concerned authorities.
  • Maintain proper documentation and follow up on approvals and submissions.

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 10 years

Other Specifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering / Hydropower Engineering / Electrical Engineering (Hydropower focus preferred).
  • Morethan 10 years of experience in hydropower project development, assessment, or consulting.
  • Basic understanding of:
    • Hydropower project components and layouts
    • Nepal hydropower regulatory framework
    • DOED procedures and NEA procedures
  • Familiarity with technical drawings, reports, and basic hydropower calculations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD and basic hydropower software is an advantage.
  • Good communication skills in English and Nepali.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites when required.
